It's always a bit worrying when you've booked an appointment for the first time and have yet to meet the clinician. You may wonder what we look like, or what kind of person you'll meet, or even how qualified we are. Hopefully this page will help you get to know your clinician a bit better from the comfort of your own home before you even arrive.
Joanna Rowles BSC (Hons) Podiatry M.Ch.S HCPC Reg. CH14761
I graduated in 2000 from Plymouth School of Podiatry and established this practice in 2002. I am a generalist podiatrist with a special interest in verruca treatment, this means I am able to treat all the common foot problems that walk through my door, but have also chosen to go on to complete extra training in this area. I love treating children and am often thanked by parents whose children have had a great experience during their visit to see me. I have two small children myself, so I think this helps (as do the stickers and lollypop at the end of their treatment)!
Joanna is available on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday throughout the day and also Friday mornings.
Suvanne Harding M.Ch.S HCPC Reg.14679
Graduated from Northampton School of Podiatry in 2000
"I became a Podiatrist following redundancy from an 11 year career in the military. I suffered a foot problem as a teenager and had surgery in 1985. My problem was diagnosed by a Podiatrist and it this surgery that enabled me to have a full and active career in the RAF.
I love what I do and believe that I truly make a positive difference".
Suvanne provides our patients with biomechanical assessments and bespoke orthoses. She has specialised in this area of podiatry over the last 18 years and uses up to date pressure plate analysis and 3D foot scans to ensure accurate clinical diagnosis of structural and functional problems associated with the foot and lower limb.
Suvanne attends the practice on a Sunday morning every other week.
Victoria Dunstan M.ChS HCPC Reg.31828
Graduated from University of East London in 2010
“I always thought I wanted to become a Physiotherapist, but a chance meeting with a Podiatrist changed my career path and I have never regretted it. I enjoy a varied working life in the NHS, prison service and private practice, which keeps my working day challenging, diverse and my skill set fresh.”
Vicky joined our team in 2018 and has proven to be a valued and skilled podiatrist. Whilst Vicky is an excellent generalist podiatrist, capable of treating and advising patients on all aspects of their foot health, she has also been responsible for completing diabetic foot health checks and the annual reviews of Alison’s Simply Nails patients too.
Vicky attends the practice on Monday mornings (and some Monday afternoons) each week.
Alison joined us in 2015. Following a consistently busy few of years at the practice and waiting time for appointments increasing to 4 weeks, Alison was our solution. We found that many of our patients only needed to attend the practice to have their nails cut when their eyesight or mobility restricted them being able to manage their own foot care at home.
Our solution was to offer a dedicated clinic with one clinician who could provide excellent care and continuity to our patients.
Alison’s caring attitude and kind nature has ensured that she has a loyal following of patients. Alison has 29 years experience, trained by the NHS in Ipswich and has also gained NVQ level 3 in diagnostic and therapeutic care.
She attends the practice on Thursdays.
David is our Pedicurist and Thai Foot Masseuse, and joined us in April 2019 after so many requests for pedicures by our patients who either didn't always need a podiatry treatment, or just wanted really beautiful feet and pretty toenails. David is a member of the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists and completed all his formal training in pedicure, manicure and Thai foot massage in Suffolk.
'I am the pedicurist who won't make you feel embarrassed about your feet! If you've got wonky toes, you don't like your feet or wouldn't dream of going to a regular beauty salon for treatment, I'm your chap! I work alongside podiatrists who help all manner of foot problems, nothing shocks us and often we can give you reassurance about your foot problems.
I wanted to find a job role that not only made people feel good about themselves, but encouraged a positive attitude to caring for their feet. With an easy going personality I find my appointments are friendly and my patients leave feeling really relaxed, a rarity in our busy lifestyles. The products I use are proven to be safe and have excellent results.'
David attends the practice on Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings.
