How long has your verruca been there? A month? A week? We usually find when we ask this question our patient replies "No! Years!"
The problem is, not every treatment you try at home is successful. You're not trained to treat feet ( that's our job!), so don't feel disappointed that you haven't been able to get rid of it yourself. Some verrucae are large and unsightly, but not painful. Others are very painful and cause discomfort with every step.
There are a lot of treatment options out there, and up until recently most of them have involved applications of acids or freeze sprays to try to destroy the verruca tissue. But now we have another treatment option!

Swift is a new technology, developed in the UK, which has been licenced for the general treatment of skin lesions in Podiatry and Dermatology.

DOES IT HURT?
Like many treatments for skin lesions, some minor discomfort may be experienced. Before treatment your podiatrist may decide to reduce the
lesion with a scalpel blade. Pain levels vary from person to person but most people undergoing Swift liken it to a pain similar to a hot needle entering the skin,

WHAT CAN I DO AFTER TREATMENT?
In some cases the treated area may feel sore but will not prevent you undertaking normal daily activities.

This is dependent on how you respond to treatment. In some cases, you may need more than one treatment (these can be from 14 days to over

CAN ANYONE RECEIVE THIS TREATMENT?
With a few exceptions, most people with skin lesions would be able to have this treatment. Your Podiatrist will carry out an assessment prior to
treatment and be able to advise you on this. This treatment is not suitable for children under the age of 7 years old.
