Victoria Galantree - Counsellor/ Therapist

I have a private practice, Willow Hill Counselling, in Melton, Nr Woodbridge for counselling individuals and holding group therapy face-to-face.

Victoria Gallantree

I am an experienced BACP Registered counsellor who has worked in the field of counselling since 2012. Alongside my private practice, I have worked within the NHS with the bereavement service. I also worked for RoSA Counselling Agency in Rugby for 5 years, so I have a wide range of experience in general counselling, specialising in sexual abuse, PTSD, grief, anxiety and depression.

My approach to counselling is based on a person centred belief, providing empathy, unconditional regard and a non judgemental approach towards my clients. My intention is to provide a safe space for us to explore the issues affecting you. Although I will not give you advice, I will support and enable you to make positive decisions based what is best for you.

I can offer confidential counselling sessions to individuals facing challenges as a young person or adults seeking to improve their abilities to cope with areas of their lives that seem overwhelming.

My practice hours at The Chapel Practice are: Tuesday evenings.

About me and my therapy practice

During an initial session we will also complete an assessment to ensure that areas of concern are highlighted and expectations can be addressed between us. This is to ensure that I offer a professional service and allow you to feel reassured that we can work together. It can take courage to participate on a counselling journey so this beginning can provide a great opportunity to ask questions about therapy.

Sessions are for 1 hour and individuals attend as many times as they require. Due to the nature of therapy one session per week provides a better chance to process the session and discover how changes and challenges may affect your perspective and self awareness.

You are not expected to bring anything with you to counselling, however, if you wish to share your experiences with significant items then that can be discussed as the sessions progress.

The professional relationship that we develop can form the basis of our trust and the warm, safe environment provides a space where you can explore feelings, thoughts and behaviour. It can be a powerful  process for both the therapist and clients so I am required as part of the BACP ethical framework to attend supervision monthly to process my own learning.

Practice description

The practice is part of a health and well-being practice specialising in podiatry. My counselling room is in a purpose built area that is warm, light and private. The room is equipped with w.c facilities and I am able to provide a drink if required. We can provide accessibility to all upon request. Car parking is available outside of the building or in a car park 100m away. The centre is also on a bus route.

My first session

After an initial assessment  of approximately 20 minutes the first session will commence taking us up to the hour.

Booking for further sessions and payments are due at the end of the session by cash or BACS.

Appointment cancellation must be made before 24hr otherwise full payment will be due before the next meeting.
